How it solves it

A stack of folded clothes only works if you take from the top. Take from the middle, which is what you actually do, and the stack collapses. Within a week the drawer is a pile again.

Standing clothes upright in dividers solves it. Every item is visible at once, and taking one out does not disturb the others.

It also means you wear more of what you own, because the things at the bottom of a stack stop being invisible.
